Pinot noir is the emblematic grape variety of the Montagne de Reims, and represents the heart of our terroir with 70% of the grape varieties in our vineyard. We have always used it to vinify our red wine, with the aim of producing our blended rosé. It was quite natural that our curiosity pushed us to explore its richness under a new identity, as a still wine..
The well-known “Le Mont-Benoit” plot is worked here on old, low-yielding Pinot Noirs planted in 1964. Facing south on a very slight slope, they benefit from clay-loam soil where the chalk is quite close.
After a short maceration of one week in vats, this Coteaux Champenois red is aged for two years in 350L oak barrels. No filtration.

This first white Coteaux Champenois from the house comes from an idea, born one day of tasting the clear wines from the 2020 harvest. A tasting where the aromatics of this Chardonnay from Ecueil pushed us to get started… and why not leave it take its time in oak barrels, slowly develop and reveal to us a new expression of a terroir until now reserved for Champagne?

Plot selection of our beautiful Ecueil Chardonnays with controlled yield; “Les Plantes” is a pretty, well-exposed slope, ideally located mid-slope on clay-limestone soils since 1993 where we have grassed every other road.
